Your logo and favicon play a critical role in your Website's overall branding. With Pixieset Website, you are able to use a logo image, alternative logo, and favicon to highlight your brand. In this article, you can learn more about each of these elements, and how to apply them to your own Website.
On this page:
How a logo works on your Website
Your logo will appear in the header area of every page of your Website, and visitors will be able to click directly on it to be directed back to your Website's homepage.
By default, your Pixieset Website will use text for your logo, but you can upload your own logo image to use across all pages of your Website instead. You can also override your logo settings for a specific page so that it uses the logo text or an alternative logo.
Editing your logo
You can review and edit your logo at any time from the Website Builder's Logo & Branding page (Design > Logo & Branding).
If you'd like to edit the logo text for your Website, you can go to the Logo Text section and edit its field.
Adding a logo image
Preparing your logo image
Before you upload your logo as your Website's logo image, you will want to make sure it is prepared to be optimally displayed:
-
Make sure your logo is 2 MB or smaller.
-
Save your logo as a PNG-24 file so that it shows a transparent background
-
Crop out any unnecessary blank space from your logo, as the entire image file will be used for your logo.
Uploading your logo image
Once you have prepared your logo image, you can upload it to your Website:
-
From your Website Builder, go to Design > Logo & Branding.
-
Upload your logo file directly into the Logo Image uploader, and adjust the size of your logo using the Logo Size option above.
-
Click Publish to make your changes live.
Using an alternative logo for a specific page
In some specific pages of your Website, you may want to use another logo instead of your primary logo image or logo text. For example, your primary logo may be dark and does not display clearly on a page where the background image is also dark.
In these cases, you can use an alternative logo on a specific page:
-
From your Website Builder's Logo & Branding page, first upload the alternative logo you'd like to use into the Alternative Logo uploader.
-
Then, go to the page that you'd like to use your alternative logo on, hover over its header area, and click the Paintbrush (Edit) icon that appears in the top right hand corner.
-
In the header's Block Settings page that appears on the left-hand Builder Panel, select Alternative from the Page Logo drop-down menu.
Adjusting your logo size
Selecting your logo's Logo Size option
You can adjust your logo's size from your Logo & Branding page. Under Logo Size, select from Small, Regular, or Large.
Trim white space surrounding your logo image
To help your logo image appear larger, you can crop out any extra blank space surrounding your logo before uploading the file to your Website.
Because the logo is given a fixed amount of space on the header, any extra white space around your logo may be making your logo appear smaller than expected.
How a favicon works on your Website
A favicon is the small icon displayed in the browser tab when you or a visitor views any page of your Pixieset Website.
By default, your Website will use a Pixieset favicon (a small "P"), but you can upload your own favicon to replace it.
Adding a favicon
The supported formats for a favicon are GIF, PNG, or ICO files. Favicons up to 300 x 300 pixels in dimension are supported but it's recommended to size your favicon in multiples of 48 pixels for it to appear in search results (e.g. 96x96px, 192x192px, 288x288px).
To upload your favicon:
-
From your Website Builder, go to Settings > Logo & Branding.
-
Upload your favicon file directly into the Favicon option.
-
Click Publish to make your changes live.
