Require your clients to fill out a specific part of their contract before they can sign.
Fields allow your client to input information into the contract themselves. They are a great way to collect information from your client that you may not have had on hand when drafting the contract together. In addition, they can be used to collect initials from clients when you want them to acknowledge an important section of the contract.
Note: Looking for a way to automatically fill out parts of a contract based on the specific client? Check out variables instead of fields!
On this page:
Adding Fields to your Contract
You can add a field to your draft contract by clicking Insert Field at the top of your editor.
Once a field has been added to your contract, you are able to optionally label and assign a default value to the field:
- Field name: You can label the field so your client has an idea of what information they need to fill out themselves (e.g. “Location of Wedding”, “Initials”, etc.)
- Field value: You can add an answer to the field on behalf of your client, which your client can update if required. (e.g. Queen Elizabeth Park)
What will the client see?
When your client is completing their contract, they will be required to fill out any blank fields (e.g. fields with no value) before they can sign the document.
