Pixieset Website
Image Uploads
Pixieset supports the following image types for uploads in the website builder:
- JPEG, PNG, or GIF files up to 50 MB
Uploads are automatically resized to improve display quality and to ensure fast loading times for your site visitors. Manually resizing photos is not required but to further optimize your site’s loading times, we recommend uploading files that are 5 MB or less, and close to 2500px on the long edge.
Mobile Gallery App
Image Uploads
Pixieset supports the following image types for uploading to a mobile gallery app:
- JPEG and PNG files up to 100 MB
- GIF files up to 85 MB
Best Practices for File Uploads
- For filenames, use alpha-numeric characters (A-Z, 0-9) with a dash (-)or underscore (_) only. Do not use spaces and special characters such as the vertical bar (|), as these are typically incompatible with built-in unzip programs.
- Avoid uploading images with excessively large pixel dimensions (e.g. more than 10,000 pixels) for the best uploading experience. This is not necessary in typical use cases involving printing and downloads. For example, an image that is 3600px on the long edge is already enough to print photos on up to poster size canvases.
- Upload your images in the sRGB color space to ensure colors appear consistent across all devices and print products. If you are uploading photos for printing, see our additional recommendations here.

How many images and videos can I upload to Client Gallery and Pixieset Website?
All Pixieset subscriptions are storage-based, so the number of images and videos you can upload will depend on the file sizes and your current subscription(s). You can review and manage your subscriptions from your Billing page.
Is there a file size limit for video uploads?
You can upload as many videos to your collections as you like within the limits of your Client Gallery or Suite Plan.
There aren’t any limits to the video size you can upload, although we recommend uploading videos that are 3840 x 2160px (4K) or smaller for best results.
Can clients purchase any of my image and video files from their gallery?
All image file types are available for sale as digital image downloads. If you're selling print products, files must be uploaded to the gallery in JPEG format. At this time, video uploads can be downloaded through the gallery but they cannot be sold through the integrated store.
