In Client Gallery, you can set a collection to pre-release so visitors can register to be notified when the photos are ready. This is especially useful for events and large groups: conference attendees, sports participants, or wedding guests can sign up before you publish the collection, then receive an email when the photos become available.

Setting up a pre-release gallery
Setting up a pre-release collection starts with changing the collection’s status. To begin accepting sign ups:
- In the collection, click the current status.
- Select Pre-release from the dropdown.
- Share the collection link with your audience.
While in pre-release, the collection remains unpublished: visitors see only the sign up page and cannot access any photos you upload.
Tip: To see what a client will see when they visit a pre-release collection, click Preview after switching the status.
Publishing a pre-release gallery
When the gallery is ready, publish the collection and you can automatically create an email campaign to notify registered clients.
- Click Publish.
- Select Publish & Notify.
- Click Publish to begin setting up your email campaign.
You will be taken to a draft email campaign, where you can customize the email content and review its recipients before sending it.
Note: Pre-release sign ups does not restrict who can view the published collection. Once published, access is determined by the collection’s privacy settings.
Reviewing client sign ups
Clients who register during pre-release become eligible recipients for the email campaign you can send once the collection is published. You can review these clients at any time:
- In the collection, click Activities.
- Click Marketing Contacts.
Note: Clients who sign up with their email address during pre-release are also recorded in your collection’s email registration section.
Client experience
When clients visit a collection in pre-release, they will see a landing page where they can enter their email address to be notified when the collection becomes available. In order to sign up, the client must check the box agreeing to receive news and promotional emails from you.
Once the collection is published, you can send registered clients an email campaign to notify them. The exact content of this notification depends on how you customize the email before sending it.
