If you want to save time when creating Collections, particularly when you have specific settings you use regularly; Pixieset offers the option to create templates, saved as ‘presets’ via our Presets feature. This allows you to save your preferences across the different Collection settings including Design, Privacy, Download, Favorite, and Store. Once you’ve created a Preset, you quickly apply your preferred Collection settings as a template when creating a new collection.

For example, you may wish to use a specific watermark for all of your wedding shoots, or collect client email registrations for visitors to your landscape photography Collections. This article will help you to get started with creating Presets for your various Collection types.

Creating a Collection Preset

To create a new Preset:

1. Go to Client Gallery Dashboard > Settings
2. Click the Presets tab
3. Click the +Add Preset button and give it a name.

Note: You can duplicate existing Presets you’ve created by clicking the three dots next to the Preset (•••) > Duplicate.

 

Configure your Preset’s Settings

Next, you'll see 6 different categories on the left-hand side that each provides a number of different options to configure your Preset settings!

General

Collection Settings refer to general aspects of the Collection, including:

• Pre-creating Category Tags
• Customizing Photo Set names
• Setting a Default Watermark
• Turning Email Registration on
• Turning Gallery Assist on
• Setting up an Auto Expiry Reminder Email
• Selecting a default Language

Design

The Design category allows you to set a number of design options, including:

• Cover Style
• Color
• Typography
• Grid Style & Spacing
• Thumbnail Size
• Navigation Style

This can help you to quickly apply a preferred design setup depending on the styles of shoot you offer, and to effectively and appropriately showcase your work for the client.

Privacy

Perhaps your typical wedding client would not like their Collection to be visible on your Homepage, or they may wish to prevent unauthorized access. Under the Privacy section, you can include:

• Having a Collection Password automatically generated
• The Client Gallery Homepage visibility (on/off)

 

Download

Within the Download area, you can manage:

• The Photo and Video Download options
• Downloadable file resolutions
• Set a limited number of downloads
• Limit the number of times a Download PIN can be used for full gallery downloads
• Make downloads ‘client only’

 

Favorite

To ensure that your proofing preferences can be quickly applied to your new Collections, you can customize your Favorite preferences from the Favorite tab:

• Turn the Favorite Status on so that clients can make favorite lists
• Allow clients to leave notes on photos they’ve added to a favorite list

 

Store

The Store category allows you to determine:

• The Collection’s Store Status (on/off)
• The Price Sheet assigned to these Collections
• Whether Personalized Product Preview is on or off (for Automatic Fulfillment Price Sheets only)

Applying a Preset to a New Collection

The next time you click the New Collection button within your Client Gallery Dashboard, you can easily select your preferred Preset from the drop-down menu and have the settings you've set up automatically applied!
