Pixieset Website’s Draft Site feature allows you to build an entirely new version of your Pixieset Website from scratch, which you can publish at a later date to replace your live website.
Draft sites can be helpful for a variety of situations. For example, create a draft site to work on a rebrand of your business without impacting your live site. Alternatively, set up draft sites to experiment with different design options and content blocks!
On this page:
Creating a draft site
You can create up to four draft sites. In your Website Builder, get started with a new draft site in two steps:
- Go to Settings > Draft Sites and click +Add Draft Site.
- Give your new draft site a name and select a theme. The name you choose for the draft site will only be used to identify your drafts in the Website Builder (e.g. “My site rebrand”).
Whenever you have a draft site created, it will be listed under Draft Sites for you to begin customizing at any time. Any changes you make to a draft site will not reflect on your live site, and you can always confirm that you are editing a draft site by the banner at the top.
Publishing a draft site
You can turn your draft site into your live site by clicking Set as live site in the bottom left of your Website Builder. Before proceeding, keep the following in mind:
- The draft site that you set live will become the Pixieset Website that visitors will see. Only one site can be live at a time, so your previously live website will become a draft after the change.
- Google and other search engines will need time to re-crawl new site pages and display updated site information in their search results. To ease the transition, you can consider using the same URLs for your draft site as your live site. Learn more about SEO here.
