What are content blocks?
Content blocks are ready-made layouts that make up the structure of your site’s page. Each content block in Pixieset Website contains a mix of elements such as photos, text, and buttons, and they are typically designed for a specific purpose. For example, a biography block contains an image and paragraph section for you to customize with details about yourself.
It can be helpful to think of each content block as an individual building block. By stacking them together, you can create unique pages to help your photography website stand out.
Updating content in a block
When you begin with a site template, your Pixieset Website will automatically include pages of premade blocks as a starting point. These blocks are ready for you to update with your own media and content:
- Click directly onto any media or text in a content block.
- Depending on what part of the block you select, upload your own media or edit text directly to replace the placeholder material.
Tip: Most content blocks come with additional settings (e.g. crop ratio for image-based blocks) which appear in the left panel after you click onto the block.
Adding a new block
You can add new content blocks to your pages at any time. For example, you may want to add a contact form to a page that currently contains only portfolio photos.
- Hover over the space between two content blocks and click the green + icon that appears.
- Select the content block you’d like to add to the page. To locate a specific type of design (e.g. a contact form), use the categories on the left.
Tip: You can move your block up and down the page or to another page completely. Hover over the block to access these options in the top right.

Pixieset Website’s templates are powered by the Flex Editor, which allows you to freely reposition individual elements of your content to create your own design.
