Collection Default Settings allow you to pre-configure all the Collection Settings and save them as a Default, in order to quickly apply them to new Collections. When creating a new Collection, you will be able to select your personal default settings to save time.
You are able to create multiple Collection Defaults, if you wish. For example, if you shoot both Weddings and Newborn Photography, you can create default settings for each type of Collection, and simply apply the correct default depending on the type of Collection created. With your Wedding clients, you may offer them the Collection Download for free, whereas your Newborn portrait clients may be required to purchase Packages from your Store.
How do I create a Collection Default?
Step One - Create new default settings:
To create your Collection Default, go to the Client Gallery Dashboard > Settings > Defaults and select New Default.
Step Two - Configure your default settings:
To configure your Collection Default setting, you'll want to review all of the different options, and save your preferences. For this example, we are going to be creating a new Default settings for Wedding Collections.
There are several Collection Default options that you can configure, separated into different tabs that reflect what is available through the Collection itself.
To start, you'll see Collection Settings:
Collection Settings refer to general aspects of the Collection; this allows you to pre-create your Category Tags, customize your Set names for Collections, enable Email Registration (to collect email addresses from visitors), add Gallery Assist, and set up your Auto Expiry Reminders.
Next is setting up the Design of your Collections:
The design of your Collection can be pre-selected so that your Wedding Collections all use the Bondi template, while your Newborn Collections all use the Anchor template (for example). You can also set the Color Theme, Grid Style, and Thumbnail Size.
Under the Privacy section you can control the Homepage Visibility for your Collections:
Each of your Collections can have different Download options:
You can control whether the Gallery Download is On by default, and which resolutions your clients can download. This also applies to your Single Photo Download option to keep things simple!
To control the options for Favorites:
These settings control whether clients are able to choose images as Favorites, and whether they can add a Note to their Favorite images.
To control the Sharing option:
You can enable or disable the option for clients to Share the Collection through the Gallery.
To control your Store:
You can decide whether you want your Pixieset store to be On, or Off by default, as well as select which Price Sheet each type of Collection should use by default.
Step Three - Apply Defaults to New Collection:
When you create a new Collection, you can select a Collection Default to have the settings you've set up automatically applied.
Can I still make changes?
Yes! Once the Collection is created, if you want to change any of the settings, you can simply go into the Collection and click on the Collection Settings tab to adjust the settings accordingly. Also, please note that if you make any adjustments to the Collection Default settings, the changes will only be applied to Collections created after the changes have taken place.
