Download Settings control the download sizes and formats available in your Collections, and can be customized to suit your business needs. This guide will give you an overview of the available settings for your photos and videos, and show you how to adjust these settings appropriately.

Note: If you are looking to limit the number of downloads, choose the Sets available for download, or limit download PIN usage, we have a complete guide to these Advanced Settings here.
Locating the Download Settings
From any Collection click the second icon under the thumbnail for Settings > Download Settings:
You can use the toggle under Photo Download to turn image downloads On or Off for your Collection. By default, downloads will be turned On for both your high-resolution and web size offerings (you can read more on available download resolutions here). With this default setup, anyone with access to the Collection URL and download PIN can download either resolution from your Collection, with no limits (both as a gallery download or with single photos):
Note: When your client initiates their download, they can choose where they would like to save it (either to their device or the cloud via Google Photos or Dropbox). You can read more in our help article on the client download experience below:
Photo Download Options
With Photo Download turned On, you have some additional options to control what your client sees when downloading from the Collection:
With this setting turned on, the client can download the full gallery of photos as one download. Turn this off if you want your clients to download single photos only.
Single Photo Download
With this setting turned on, clients can download on a photo-by-photo basis. Turn this off if you want your clients to download the full gallery only (this will also hide all of the Single Photo Download Options below).
Single Photo Download PIN
With this setting turned on, entering the Download PIN is required to start downloading single photos from the Collection. Turn this off if you do not want people to enter a PIN before downloading individual photos.
Single Photo Download Email Tracking
With this setting turned on, entering an email address is required to start downloading single photos from the Collection. Turn this off if you do not want people to enter their email address before downloading individual photos.
Restrict Single Photo Download Size
This setting is turned off by default, so clients and visitors can choose from high-resolution/web size offerings for single photo downloads. If you want to limit single photo downloads to a single resolution instead, turn this setting on and choose the preferred download size.
You can use the toggle under Video Download to turn video downloads On or Off for your Collection. Your client downloads videos from the collection using the Download PIN, if it is turned On. Videos can be downloaded one at a time, straight to the client’s device. Video downloads through Pixieset will be downloaded in a high quality MP4 format up to 2048px on the longest edge, based on the orientation of your uploaded video. You can read more on uploading videos to your Collections here.
The 4-digit download PIN is automatically generated and turned On by default for security and tracking purposes. With this turned On, the PIN will be required in order to download any photos or videos from the Collection. The toggle allows you to turn it On or Off, though we recommend keeping it turned On for the protection of your work. If there is no PIN, anyone with access to the Collection can download photos. You can click Reset PIN on the right to generate a new PIN. Alternatively, setting the toggle Off and On again will generate a new PIN (meaning any previous PIN will no longer work).
