Meta Pixel (formerly Facebook Pixel) is a helpful tool that records user actions and tracks conversions from Facebook or Instagram ads. It can help you build targeted audiences for future campaigns and further optimize them for increased performance. For more information about Meta Pixel, see their support article here.
This guide will walk you through the steps required to connect a pixel to your Pixieset Website.
On this page:
- Before you start
- Step One: Set up a pixel
- Step Two: Copy the pixel code
- Step Three: Add the pixel to your website
Before you start
- You need an upgraded Pixieset Website or Suite Plan to connect your pixel to Pixieset Website.
- Your Meta account must be set up to manage business tools through the Meta Business Suite (formerly Facebook for Business) in order to create a pixel.
Step One: Set up a pixel
If you do not have a pixel set up yet, you will need to create one in the Meta Events Manager first:
- Go to Meta Events Manager.
- Click Connect Data > Web.
- Click Connect.
- Name your pixel and click Create pixel.
- Enter your website URL.
- Click Continue.
Step Two: Copy the pixel code
A pixel comes with a unique pixel ID that you can add to your Pixieset Website. To copy your ID:
- Go to Meta Events Manager.
- Go to Data Sources and locate your pixel.
- Copy the ID shown under its name.
Important: Meta may provide a pixel base code with instructions to install it into your website’s header area. In Pixieset, you only need to copy the pixel ID; our system will automatically inject the code for you.
Step Three: Add the pixel to your website
Once you have your pixel ID, you can add it to your website to automatically connect to your site. In your site builder:
- Go to Settings > Tracking & Analytics.
- Paste your code into Facebook Pixel.
- Publish or re-publish your site to push the code live.
Once on your live site, your pixel code should begin generating data in your Meta Events Manager. This process can vary from minutes to an hour.
