If you deliver highlight films, behind-the-scenes clips, or other video content, you can upload videos to Client Gallery so clients can watch them directly in the gallery. Videos can also be made downloadable through your collection’s download PIN.
Note: Video uploads are supported on upgraded Client Gallery plans or Suite plans.

Uploading a video to a collection
You can upload videos to a new or existing collection from your Client Gallery dashboard. Uploaded videos appear inside the collection so clients can view them alongside their photos.
To upload a video to a collection:
- Open the collection you want to add videos to.
- Click Add Media.
- Drag and drop your video files into the uploader, or click Browse files to select them from your device.
Note: If your video is hosted on YouTube or Vimeo, you can embed it in a collection instead of uploading the file directly by clicking Add Media > Embed. Keep in mind embedded videos cannot be downloaded by clients.
Selecting a video thumbnail
A video thumbnail is the preview image clients see before they play the video. Choosing a clear thumbnail helps the video look polished in the collection and makes it easier for clients to recognize what the video contains.
To select a video thumbnail:
- Open the collection that contains the video.
- Hover over the video and click ⋮ > Edit Thumbnail.
- Click Select from collection or Select from video to choose a thumbnail.
Tip: If you select a collection photo to be the video thumbnail, you can click ⋮ > Edit Thumbnail > Set focal point to adjust how the thumbnail is centered.
Allowing video downloads
You can choose whether clients are able to download uploaded videos from a collection. When video downloads are turned on, clients can download available videos using the collection’s Download PIN.
To enable video downloads in a collection:
- Go to Settings > Download.
- Turn on Video Download.
Note: Videos through Pixieset are downloaded in a high-quality MP4 format up to 2048px on the longest edge, based on the orientation of your uploaded video. 4K downloads are available on Pro and Ultimate Plans for Client Gallery and Suite.
Client experience
When video downloads are enabled, clients can download videos from the collection by hovering over the video and selecting the download icon. Videos are downloaded one at a time.
Tip: You can view your client’s video download history by going to the collection’s download activity.
Supported formats and recommended settings
- MP4, MOV, AVI, and M4V files are supported; MP4 is the recommended format
- Videos can be up to 3840 x 2160px (4K) (available on select upgraded Client Gallery and Suite plans)
- H.264 video CODEC
- 8-bit 4:2:0 or below
Note: Your video files do not get upscaled. For example, if you upload a HD video and your subscription allows up to 4K, Pixieset will not scale up the video to 4K.
