Using Google Analytics with your Pixieset Website allows you to track the amount of visitors your website receives, where in the world they are based, how long they stay on your site, what pages they visit and what they do. This insight can help you tailor your website to your visitors, creating the best possible experience, drawing in more traffic and generating new business inquiries.

Before you start
- You need an upgraded Pixieset Website or Suite Plan to connect Google Analytics to Pixieset Website.
- A Google Analytics account is required to complete the steps in this guide. If you are in a team account, ensure you have the admin or editor role.
Step One: Set up your GA4 property
In order to connect your website to Google Analytics, you need to create a Google Analytics 4 property (GA4).
Important: You must set up a GA4 property in order to receive analytics. On July 1 2023, Google phased out Universal Analytics properties (UA) and any existing properties of that type no longer process data.
To set up your GA4 property:
- Go to Admin and click Create > Property.
- Fill out the required business details and objectives.
- On the data collection step, select Web as your platform.
- Paste your site’s domain (e.g. mydomain.com) into Website URL.
- Click Create stream.
Step Two: Copy the measurement ID
Your new web stream will have a unique measurement ID for you to copy. The ID will be in the following format: G-XXXXXXXXXX.
If the measurement ID isn’t immediately shown upon creation, follow these steps to locate it:
- Go to Admin > Data streams.
- Click on your new stream.
- Find the Measurement ID and copy it.
Step Three: Add the ID to your Pixieset Website
Once your measurement ID is copied, you are ready to add it to your Pixieset Website:
- In the site builder, go to Settings > Tracking & Analytics.
- Paste your code into Google Analytics.
- Publish or re-publish your site to push the code live.
What’s next?
It can take up to 48 hours for data from your Pixieset Website to initially appear in Google Analytics. Once the data is in the dashboard, you can begin viewing and generating reports here.
