Setting up client-only access in a collection

Client Exclusive Access lets you share private content with clients while limiting what guests can view and download within the same collection. You can also allow clients to mark individual photos as private, ensuring those images remain hidden from guests. For example, wedding or event photographers can share the full gallery with their clients, while keeping more personal or behind-the-scenes moments hidden from guests.

Setting up Client Exclusive Access

To set up Client Exclusive Access:

  1. In the collection, go to the Settings section.
  2. Click Privacy.
  3. Toggle on Client Exclusive Access to generate a customizable password.
  4. Under Client-Only Photo Sets, choose which photo sets you’d like to make visible to clients only.

Client experience

When visitors open a collection, they can choose to enter as either a guest or a client. Guests will only be able to view sets available to them, while clients will be able to view every set within the collection.

Note: Clients will only need the Client Exclusive Access password. If you also have a collection password enabled, guests will still need to enter the collection password.

Allowing clients to mark photos as private

By default, clients with Client Exclusive Access can mark photos private. When a client privates a photo by hovering over the photo and selecting the eye icon, the photo is immediately hidden from guests. Learn more about this setting here.

Note: You can always view and unhide any images your client marks as private from your collection’s activity section (Activities > Private Photos).

Can I still set a collection password for guests?

Yes. You can continue using a collection password for guests, while setting up Client Exclusive Access for clients.

What happens when guests uses the gallery download?

Guests will only receive photos that are visible to them when downloading a gallery. Any client-only photos or sets will automatically be excluded from the download.

What happens when guests purchase an “All photos” digital download from the store?

Guests will only receive photos that are visible to them when purchasing the “All photos” digital download from the collection storefront. Any client-only photos or sets will automatically be excluded from the store order.
