Tags help you organize collections in your dashboard and help visitors find relevant collections on your Client Gallery homepage. After you add tags to your collections, you and your visitors can filter the collections displayed.

What can I use tags for?

If you photograph multiple specialties or manage many collections, tags can help you group related collections in your dashboard. The same tags help visitors find relevant collections on your Client Gallery homepage.

Here are some ways to use tags in common photography workflows:

• Multiple photography specialties: Tag collections by session type, such as Weddings, Families, or Commercial.
• Seasonal or mini sessions: Add tags such as Fall Minis or Holiday Sessions.
• School or corporate photography: Tag collections by school, organization, department, or year.
• Event photography: Tag collections by event type, location, or date.
• Adventure and nature photography: Tag collections by activity, landscape, destination, or season, such as Mountains, North America, or Winter.

Adding a collection tag

You can add a new or existing tag from an individual collection’s settings.

1. From Collections, open the collection you want to update.
2. Go to Settings > General.
3. Under Category Tags, enter a new tag or select an existing one.

Note: Once created, tags must be removed from each collection individually.

Bulk adding tags

Use the bulk actions menu to add new or existing tags to multiple collections at once.

1. Open the Collections page or any folder.
2. Hover over a collection and click the circle in the top-left corner.
3. Select each additional collection you want to update.
4. In the action bar at the bottom, click the Edit tags icon.
5. Enter a new tag or select an existing one.
6. Click Apply.

Filtering collections by tag

Tags can filter collections in your dashboard and collections on your Client Gallery homepage.

Filtering from your dashboard

To display collections with specific tags in your dashboard:

1. Go to Collections.
2. Click the Category Tag filter at the top of the page.
3. Select one or more tags.

Filtering from your homepage

Visitors can select a tag at the top of your Client Gallery homepage to display collections with that tag.

Note: A collection’s homepage visibility settings still apply when visitors filter by tag. A collection hidden from the homepage will not appear, even when it has the selected tag.
